What to expect? Helmed by executive chef Steve Nguyen, Indochine has firmly established itself as a chic and trendy dining spot in Dubai serving up bold French-Vietnamese dishes, in a setting that feels cosy and intimate.

From New York to Dubai: It’s the Middle Eastern outpost of the original Indochine, which opened in the 1980s, and follows its mothership with the tropical-inspired interiors, greenery and foot-tapping music. Nguyen even spent a week with the team in the Big Apple, absorbing all he could, before putting his own spin on dishes in Dubai.

Traditions with a twist: The menu offers Indochine classics such as the Vietnamese ravioli, but also has the culinary team playing with flavours and textures – resulting in the likes of the crowd favourite, lamb char sui.

Drink up: The cocktails are worth a mention; regulars often pop by for a quick tipple even if they don’t have time for a full meal. Pick from the Indochine Martini or La Poste (which blends white rum with a signature red plum cordial, yuzu and lime), or even the Penny Lee (featuring grilled pineapple rum, roasted coconut liqueur, italian bitters, lime and passion fruit).
