Classical French cooking in a charming coastal setting

La Bourgogne

On the Pass

Jean-Paul Bondoux

Pastry Chef

Aurelien Bondoux

Located in a well-heeled seaside resort, this sophisticated French restaurant has found a winning formula in serving the best Burgundy cuisine using homegrown, Uruguayan produce. Gallic chef Jean-Paul Bondoux creates sculptural dishes inspired by the terroir of his native land: chicken-stuffed zucchini flowers, roasted duck confit with a spiced port wine, delicately sautéed scallops and herb-sprinkled rack of lamb. The menu, which includes à la carte and tasting sets, is classically French.

Trained in France, Bondoux and his wife opened La Bourgogne over 35 years ago. The restaurant is now a renowned South American establishment. Nestled in a fragrant pine wood on the sun-drenched Punta del Este peninsula, the understated dining room is dressed in a country-style, with a number of tables located on a terrace with views across a romantic garden.
