The Harrison Speakeasy
Buenos Aires, Argentina
There's nothing better than a high concept bar with equally well-considered cocktails, so The Harrison Speakeasy ticks all boxes. Named for Prohibition-era criminal Nicky Harrison, who ran his own 1930s speakeasy hidden behind his family's NYC fish market, this hidden drinking den is itself tucked away at the back of Nicky NY Sushi Restaurant, so the whole operation is a suitably elevated tribute to the original. Also in the classic speakeasy mould, there's a lot of stirred brown cocktails like the Monkey Powder: a mix of Scotch, sherry, apricot brandy, cinnamon and lime, alongside some fruiter concoctions like The Butcher, which blends bourbon with extra brut sparkling wine, pineapple juice, raspberry cordial, lime and bitters.
